Study Historical Oboe with Jeanine Krause

Historical Performance Is More Than Fingerings

Far more than merely learning a new set of fingerings, historical performance is a whole language

a rhetorical (persuasive) language of dance, gesture, harmony, timing, hierarchy and character.

At its core, Historical Performance is Song and Dance.

The goal is not simply to “play old instruments,” but to develop the skills you already have (speaking and dancing!) then draw from history’s largest collection of quality compositions for the oboe, find your own voice, feel good while you are at it and, most importantly, find some folks to share in musicking!
